Platform:
Age Range: 11 to 14

KS3

Norman Conquest - why was England invaded in 1066? Students interview the three claimants to the English throne, produce a storyboard of a news programme on the day of the Battle of Hastings, and can create - and even animate - their own version of the Bayeux Tapestry.
Norman Rule - how did the Norman Conquest change life in England? Students create storyboards about the Domesday survey, the feudal system, and the design and construction of motte and bailey castles.
Norman Kings - students can take on the role of a TV producer on a documentary about William I. They can also interrogate the people who were present when William Rufus died, and create a storyboard about Stephen's and Matilda's claims to the throne.
Church and State - students recreate a day in the life of a medieval monk and complete a storyboard about the background to Thomas Becket's murder.
